Behind the Veil
Behind the Veil
Saudi Arabia, the notion did come,
To work as a nurse and soak up some sun.
Inception then arrival was all very sudden,
I wondered what struck me, in this land of Aladdin.
White thobes and red ghoutra covered most of the males,
Black silks covered further the women in veils.
Impressions were vivid and striking to sight,
Soon learned that this place was not black and white.
The people are friendly and pleasantly warm,
Locals are schooled, Jizzani ’s are small.
They’re dress - elementary and fuss less to me,
And inside them, great characters, in the land so Holy.
I came to this place to prosper and grow,
To realize my dreams and make some good dough.
Adventure was possible in and outside this land,
Traveling to many far corners beyond what I’d planned.
Beyond did it go, new contract, new dreams,
The longer I stay, the easier it seems.
Just when I thought it was time to move on,
The pull to stay focused remains very strong.
At the end of the day, we’re transient links,
In alliance together to stand without kinks.
Mahbrook to this nation, prosperity is fast,
And still we’ll be neighbours cross-continents so vast.
Full circle will turn after sharing some ways,
That you’ll be the experts in a host of assays.
What will be untouched is the culture so sure,
That quickens the senses and fosters the lure.
